One week more...

I cannot believe that I only have the rest of this week in the Twin Cities. The fact that it is Tuesday and still only 3/8 of my portfolio is completed shows that, especially considering that I stayed home to work on it this morning and ended up watching Star Trek instead. I blame Liz. "Pamela, it's Tuesday! We can watch Star Trek!" And, indeed, it was the first time this internship that we'd both been around on a Tuesday at lunchtime.

So, rather than working like a good Pamela, I indulged in Soap Operas in Space. Okay, normally Star Trek is better than a soap, but the last three episodes I've watched have been: 1) Captain Picard goes on vacation, meets the young, exciting Vash who finds "Jean Luc...a little stimulating [herself]", 2) Riker becomes the host for a trill that Beverly was in love with when it was in a different body, and 3) Data experiments with dating, including the wonderful line, "I left a man because he wasn't emotional enough and then immediately started seeing a man completely incapable of emotion."

Oh well. Now I'm at the shelter, where I just finished showing a bunch of adorable little kids around. They asked questions almost non-stop, which made my job quite a bit easier. Except when they asked things like, "How many people stay here in a year?" and "So, where does all the money for this come from?" To which Pamela says: "You're somewhere between 1st and 6th grade! Why are you asking me detailed questions about the funding of service organizations?" Okay, so I really just said, "You know, I'm not really sure," and left it at that. But this first statement is what I was thinking.
